Many of you (my clients) know that I love to offer stretches to do at home to help increase the benefit of our massage session. A 60min or 90min massage can only help so much, thats why I often encourage you to do a few stretches at home to help further lengthen the muscles and allow you to learn ways to help manage your pain/tension daily.
Regular movement and stretching on a daily basis is the key to a pain free body!
Spinal Twist is a wonderful stretch to lengthen the spine, ring out internal organs and gently reset hip alignment. This pose can be done without any props or can be done using props like; yoga blocks, pillows and or blankets stacked on top of one another. As you can see in the photo I am also using a pillow to support my neck, but you can do this pose without the neck support for a straighter/more aligned spinal twist. Please follow along with me in this series to learn easy ways you can manage your back pain at home when you're not able to get into the office for a massage session.
I'd like to also remind you that I do offer private stretch classes in my office where we will do 4--6 poses tailored to your body's needs followed by a guided mediation.
